The Story

A gorgeous dreadnought from Japan!

Manufactured by the Kiso Suzuki company based out of Nagoya, Takeharu was a subsidiary brand manufacturing a range of acoustic instruments. This particular example, dating to 1977, is the WT-300 model and features a spruce top with what appears to be a hybrid laminate of rosewood/mahogany for the back and sides with a maple centre piece. Featured on the fretboard are exceptional abalone inlays with plenty of character. A gorgeous example with plenty of tonal character!

Cosmetic condition is good for its age with some minor dings and play wear present throughout. There are some minor splits in the binding, however these appear to be structurally sound. It also appears like the area end of the fretboard has been braced between the back and top of the guitar on the inside at some point, perhaps to prevent sinking. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes a hardcase.
