The true '80s' sound!
It's well known that the chorus effect dominated a lot of what was recorded through the late '70s up to the early '90s. However, some of those iconic sounds were often flangers instead! Taking the same basic premise of the chorus, a flanger employs shorter delay times and only modulates one copy of the original signal. The end result is a range of tones capturing chorus/delay like tones, all the way to the infamous 'jet-plane' sound.
The BF-2 is by far one of the most widely used and recorded flangers manufactured. This particular example dates to 1999 and features controls for manual, depth, rate, and res. As for all Boss pedals, these are built like absolute tanks and are ready for all the wear and abuse that comes with use. Sounds like I've been transported back to Minneapolis in 1984.
