The Story

Here we have an incredible, all original Gibson Skylark Lap Steel. Manufactured between 1957 and 1965, the Skylark followed the BR-9 as Gibson's entry level lap steel of the time. Made of one-piece Korina, this instrument has an incredible amount of resonance when unplugged. Plugged in, the single coil in the bridge is super articulate and incredibly punchy. According to the serial number, and the inclusion of what we believe to be factory original double line Kluson tuners, this particular example dates approximately between 1964 and 1965.

The only modification was the addition of screw-in legs on the bottom of the guitar, which have been removed and the holes hidden with three nicely crafted covers made from 3-ply pickguard material.

Includes its original hard-case.
